Emissions and waste

A significant part of Viking Line’s environmental work is our effort to reduce emissions and our impact on the environment in many different ways.

We do this by

  • reducing energy consumption and minimising emissions into the air.
  • making sure that Viking Line’s ships emit no waste or bilge water containing nitrogen, phosphorous or oil into the sea.
  • bringing all waste produced on board our ships ashore to be recycled, reused, burned, deposited, composted or otherwise disposed of.
  • prohibiting the use of toxic primers on our ships.

Recycling

Recycling protects the environment, and by recycling more, we can help fight global warming. Recycling materials requires much less energy than making new materials. By recycling, we can help fight global warming. More information about recycling at Viking Line can be found here.
