On our Turku-Mariehamn-Stockholm route with Viking Grace and with Viking Glory vessels, we will demonstrate how one of the already available solutions can minimize the emissions from sea transports.
At Viking Line we are honoring the Baltic Sea Day on Thursday the 29th of August and one week onwards. During this week we will only be fueling our vessels on the route with non-fossil liquefied biogas (LBG).
Since last year we have offered an opportunity to all our freight customer and our passengers on this route to choose a more environmentally friendly liquefied biogas alternative for their sea voyage with a relatively small surcharge. To promote further this possibility, we are now, for one week, starting on Thursday the 29th, offering this service without any extra surcharge for our customers to being part of this green corridor transport in reality.
Choosing the optional biogas (LBG) in the future for the sea-crossing for your freight unit, you are reducing emissions by 90%.
