Dress code

Viking Line has a uniform policy that you are expected to follow. Only the garments specified for each position should be used as a uniform. In addition to the uniform, we expect you to consider the following:

  • Discreet jewellery.
  • Discreet makeup.
  • Extreme hairstyles and hair colours should preferably be avoided.
  • Piercings other than in the ears should be removed when you are on duty.
  • Visible tattoos should be covered when possible.
  • Everyone should wear a name tag on the left side. You will receive your name tag from your supervisor.
  • Perfumes/aftershave should be used in moderation. Many people are allergic to fragrances.
  • Personal hygiene is important both for our guests and your colleagues. By maintaining good hand hygiene, you prevent infection for yourself and others.
  • The uniform may not be decorated with personal brooches (exception: service badges).

Remember that a well-groomed appearance and neat, tidy, and clean work clothes/shoes are a courtesy to our guests. Remember always to be friendly and helpful to all our guests when moving through passenger areas in work clothes, regardless of your department.
