VLSS (Viking Line Security Service) consists of trained security guards who are enlisted onboard.
The main task of VLSS is to maintain general order and security onboard, meaning their duties are comparable to those of the Police. The guards' supervisor is the ship's master, who, according to maritime and seafarers' law, has police authority onboard.
If someone behaves aggressively, observes a fight, or any other crime occurs, you should not intervene yourself but alert VLSS. You can do this by calling the ship's information desk or, if available, via radio at your workplace.
When providing your report, describe calmly and clearly what is happening and its location. Meet VLSS when they arrive at the scene and tell them what has happened.
