If you become ill, please notify your supervisor immediately. If you become ill onboard, please visit the nurse, who will provide advice on how to care for yourself. Suppose you become ill during your time off. In that case, you should contact the health centre in your home municipality and submit a medical certificate/sick leave certificate to your employer without delay.
Note! Contact your supervisor or the nurse immediately if you are unable to report for work due to illness. Remember that the later the sick leave notification comes, the more difficult it can be to find a replacement. Therefore, please notify us as soon as possible.
Remember that it is your duty to ensure that you are fit for sea duty, meaning that you have a valid medical certificate for ship employees. Generally, the certificate is valid for 2 years; however, there are exceptions. The employer may also require examinations more frequently.
